Annual Expenses and Financial Responsibilities
The following summarizes your financial obligations when enrolling your son at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy.
Tuition
Tuition is prorated throughout the year for students in grades 7 through 12 entering between the end of October and the first week of April. Tuition and fees for the 2010-2011 school year's comprehensive fee, which is established by the Board of Trustees, is $32,500. International cadet cost is $34,500. Tuition for the
Post Graduate Leadership Program (PGLP) 2010-2011 academic year is $22,600 and $24,600 for International cadets. Both the academic year and PGLP programs include:
• Tuition
• Room and board
• Laundry
• Haircuts
• Student accident insurance
• Hardcover textbook usage fee
• Computer usage fee
Initial Supplies Fee
New students are required to pay an
initial supply fee of $2,250 for uniforms and supplies.
Basic Clothing and Equipment Requirements
In addition to the fees listed above, each cadet is required to provide certain
basic clothing, bedding and equipment supplies.
Cadet Bank Account
This Account provides weekly spending money for your cadet. An initial deposit of $200 is required at the time of registration. Most cadets receive an allowance of $8 to $15 per week, however you establish this amount.
Payment and Contract
A signed Enrollment Contract and minimum deposit of $3,000 are required to reserve a space for your son. Full payment must be made on or before registration day, unless a monthly payment plan is established to pay the remaining balance.
Monthly Payment Plan
Payments can be made based on either an eleven month plan beginning in March or an eight month plan beginning in July. Both plans end in February. These payments are processed through FACTS Tuition Management via automatic bank transfer (American banks only), or credit card (MasterCard, American Express and Discover). Private School Loans
Pay Early
Avoid this year's price increases! "Seasonal Early Payment Discounts" are available to those who contract and pay in full by May 3, 2010. Please contact the Enrollment Office at admissions@sjnma.org for details.
Academic Excellence Scholarships
An Academic Excellence Scholarship of $1,000 or $2,000 is awarded to entering cadets who achieve qualifying scores on our cadet entrance examination.
Old Boys Alumni Association Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship is available to any cadet who is a son, grandson, great-grandson or nephew of a past cadet that attended at least one year at the Academy.
Brothers Discount
A brothers discount of 10% of the annuel fees due will be awarded to each additional sibling enrolled during the same school year. Sibling discounts will be applied each year providing the above criteria is met.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to young men who have been accepted at the Academy for the fall academic school year.
