Old Boys Alumni Association (OBAA)

The Old Boys Alumni Association (OBAA) was founded to foster and continue friendships established while a cadet. The association serves as a link between past students and their school, and to uphold the honor and reputation of the Academy.
A Message from the OBAA President
Dear Alumni, Families and Friends of the Academy:
The senior class of the 126th Corps of Cadets at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy has officially joined the ranks of the Old Boys Alumni Association and they did so in style as they were the first graduates to walk through the Alumni Gate.
On May 27, nearly 300 alumni attended the OBAA Luncheon and more than 140 participated in the OBAA Dinner. As in past years, it was a great joy to present awards during the OBAA Dinner to the men and women who work so hard for the Academy. Award winners for 2010 were:
Honored Old Boy – Donald Mullet S1960
Distinguished Service Award – David Harman N1969
Honorary Old Boys – Timothy Smilanich and Susan Hummel
Honored Athlete – Joe LaRocca N1969 and Hugo Herrera 1996
The OBAA meeting was held on campus on May 28, 2010, and was attended by over 40 directors, alumni and staff. For the second consecutive year, we have a full OBAA Board of Directors with newly elected members, Rob Sarra S1991 and Pete Waskel S1976. During the meeting, Academy President Jack H. Albert, Jr., reported favorably on the new Post Graduate Leadership Program, which will begin this fall. The Academy has received much interest in the new program.
Now we turn our focus to Homecoming & Parents’ Weekend, October 1-3, 2010. Join us at the Annual Pig & Chicken Roast in Welles Dining Hall on October 2. You won’t regret it!
We look forward to your continued support of the OBAA and this great Academy. As always, there is a list of upcoming events on the back cover of The Beacon or visit the Alumni Calendar page.
